"The Burning Bowl Ceremony"
As at many Unity churches worldwide, at Unity of North Kitsap we affirm the end of the year and welcome what 2022 will bring with The Burning Bowl and the White Stone ceremonies on two consecutive Sundays.
This Sunday, we invite you to participate in the Burning Bowl ritual of release and appreciation. During the service, we will all have the opportunity to pray, meditate, consider, and write about any aspects of our lives that no longer serve us and open ourselves to a new year.
Be sure to have paper and something to write with at hand and, after the service, you can take your written reflection to a place where you can safely light it on fire and watch it burn to complete the ritual.
An ordained Unity minister since 1995, Rev. Sherry is an APC board certified chaplain with over 25 years of experience in hospice and palliative care as well as a certified spiritual director. She has ministered Unity churches in Missouri, Kansas, and the Pacific NW and currently serves as the Spiritual Advisor for Unity of North Kitsap. Sherry is Rosie’s mom and guardian of canine, Mimi. Her interests include sporadic piano lessons, exploring a new co-housing community, healthy food for elders, traveling the world, and being outdoors anywhere. She aspires to write poetry and has a voracious appetite for reading it.

Matt and Becky bring their expressive arts ministry to many Unity and CSL churches in the Seattle-Tacoma area. They have each served as local and regional music and choir directors, arts team leaders, soloists, and each have worked with influential local and national New Thought artists over the last two decades. They share their faith and love through music, humor, and harmony.
